HIIT vs Steady Cardio: What Burns More Fat?

It’s one of the most common questions we get: should I do HIIT or long, steady cardio to lose fat? The honest answer is — both, used smartly, beat either one alone.

HIIT (high-intensity interval training) torches a lot of calories in a short time and keeps your metabolism elevated for hours afterwards. It’s brutally efficient — but it’s demanding, so 2–3 sessions a week is plenty.

Steady-state cardio is easier to recover from, great for building an aerobic base, and can be done more often. Think brisk incline walks, cycling or rowing at a conversational pace.

The winning formula: a couple of hard HIIT sessions, some easy steady cardio, and — crucially — strength training to keep your muscle. Fat loss always comes back to consistency and nutrition.
